Lodge a Complaint

At the MRA, we strive to provide you with quality services in line with the MRA's Taxpayer's Charter and the Integrity Policy Statement. Towards this end, we have introduced a new method to allow you to tell us where we have not been able to meet your expectations. This new facility allows you to lodge a complaint concerning our staff or services that you have not been able to resolve after following the normal process. You may also use this facility to send compliments, suggestions or feedbacks.

  1. Why?

    The MRA is committed to enhance the Standard of Service offered to its stakeholders and is convinced that receiving complaints is an effective way to gauge its performance and continually improve its interactions with the public. On the other hand, we would like to learn from you where we have not delivered up to your satisfaction.


  2. What?

    What to complain is important to determine before starting this process. You will be prompted with specific categories from which to select the one most relevant to your complaint. While we want this system to provide you the necessary relief you are seeking, please note that this facility is not meant for grievances such as :

    • Disagreement with a tax decision,
    • Disagreement with the amount of Penalty or Interest imposed,
    • Disagreement with a legislation or different interpretation of any legislation falling under the administration of the MRA,
    • Objection to an assessment raised by the MRA.

    Note that there are other channels to file a complaint:

    • By sending an email on
    • By writing to to the Director, Internal Affairs Division, Level 7, Belfort Tower, Dauphine Street, Port Louis.
    • By calling in person at the above address.
